This meeting will take place on the campus of the University of Texas, San Antonio located at One UTSA Circle, San Antonio, TX 78249. A campus map can be found here. Hourly Paid Parking

Main Campus

$2.50/hour. Payment required at paystation or garage cashier window. Available at the following locations:

$2.50/hour. Payment is required upon arrival using the ParkMobile for both the Downtown Campus Garage (DTG) and surface lots.

Disabled Visitor Parking

Weekend and Evening Parking

Drivers can take advantage of permit-free parking options in Employee A, Employee B, and unmarked Commuter spaces only during the times below. This policy applies at both the Main and Downtown Campuses, regardless of permit status.

  • Monday - Thursday: 10:00 pm - 7:00 am
  • Friday: 4:30 pm - 7:00 am the following Monday

Daily Scratch-Off Permits

Single-use daily parking permits are an affordable visitor parking option. Scratch off the correct month and date, then hang the permit from vehicle rear-view mirror with the scratched off date fully visible.

Permits must be purchased by a UTSA student or employee at the BRG or XAG garage cashier stations on the Main Campus, or at Campus Services (FS 2.418) on the Downtown Campus. View scratch-off permit options on our Parking Permits page, under the Other Permits dropdown.

Food Services

On Campus dining options here (with Hours of operations).

  • Roadrunner Cafe RowdyMart Express - Several options of food including grab-n-go meals, beverages, and salty snacks. Opens at 10 am on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Chick-fil-A - Serving chicken sandwiches, salads, beverages, and side dishes. Open on Saturday 10:30 am-3:00 pm.

Off Campus (walking distance to campus)

  • Noodle Tree - 7114 UTSA Blvd, 101, San Antonio, TX. Vegetarian and vegan options.
  • The Block - 140530 Roadrunner Way, San Antonio, TX. Food truck park including a variety of San Antonio's local chefs.
  • Whataburger - 6803 N Loop 1604 W, San Antonio, TX. Offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner serving burgers, salads, shakes, and beverages.
  • Bill Miller BBQ - 7273 North Loop 1604 West, San Antonio, TX. Offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Serving breakfast sandwiches, BBQ, fried chicken, and sides.
  • Bunz - 6819 North Loop 1604 W, San Antonio, TX. Handcrafted burgers including vegan and vegetarian options.

  • Starbucks - 1 UTSA Circle, San Antonio, TX. Opens at 10 am.
  • Indy Coffee Club - 7114 UTSA Blvd, Ste 103, San Antonio, TX. Offers coffee, lattes, espresso, and pastries. Opens daily at 8 am.

Well-Being Protocols

Due to the ending of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Declaration on May 11, 2023, and newly released COVID-19 guidelines in 2024 by the CDC, the following protocols are in place for this workshop:

  • Participants, including staff and volunteers, are no longer requested to be vaccinated or tested.
  • Wearing a mask is optional and will be based on individual comfort levels. Extra masks will be available at the registration desk, while quantities last.
  • If anyone has been exposed to COVID-19 within 72 hours of coming to the meeting, they should wear a mask throughout the conference.
  • If anyone tested positive for COVID-19 within 72 hours before coming to the meeting, they should come to the meeting only if they have been fever-free and have improved symptoms 24 hours before coming, and agree to wear a mask throughout the conference.
  • If anyone tests positive for COVID-19 during the meeting and has a fever, they should isolate in their room until they are fever-free and have improved symptoms. They should also agree to wear a mask throughout the conference.

The WIMSATX 2024 is committed to the well-being of all participants at this conference and will continue to share any updates.

Broadcasting, Photographing, and Videotaping Policy

The recording or broadcasting of any WIMSATX event, talk, and poster session by any other party is strictly forbidden without the explicit written permission of the WIMSATX organizers. To obtain permission, send your request by email to empowering.excellence.wimsatx@gmail.com to the attention of the WIMSATX organizers. Having submitted a request form does not constitute temporary authority, and approval will not be given orally. Please allow sufficient time for the approval process to be completed. Allow at least two weeks from time of receipt of request by WIMSATX organizers.

Photographs and videos of meeting interactions will be taken by organizers. These photographs and videos may occasionally be used for publicity purposes. By participating in the workshop, participants acknowledge that their photograph or a video that includes them may be published in material produced by the WIMSATX organizers.

Under no circumstances will anyone be permitted to take pictures or videos of a single person without that person’s permission.
